Our Professional Commitment

Daily interactions among staff provides an environment for team members to present cases, collect information, discuss treatment options, and explore ideas from other staff members.

Allergy Evaluation — The evaluation of the patient regarding allergy begins with a medical history and evaluation by the doctor.   Testing or treatment  may be advised.  Some patients may elect to do provocative neutralization, however, Low Dose Allergen therapy has proven to be a popular treatment for may long-standing patients.  By the time a patient gets to this clinic, they usually have already tried rotation and elimination diets.  There may be a better way.   Whatever the decision, the patient is very much a part of this process. Regarding allergy, in most cases, suffering need not be life long and can be greatly relieved or eliminated with the tools we have available. The decisions made about treatment grow out of a careful assessment of each particular patient’s needs, adequate testing, frank discussions, and expectations that invoke clear communications.

Chelation Treatment and Protocol is individualized for each patient by the doctor. Complications with chelation are infrequent; however, symptoms related to detoxification may occur and are usually easy to manage. Any change in treatment protocol requires a visit with the doctor.

homeoHomeopathic Medicine could never be considered a fad –- it has been used by physicians all over the world for more than 200 years. The word homeopathy comes from the Greek word meaning “similar suffering”. Hippocrates first mentioned the idea of “like cures like” back in the 5th Century B.C., but it was Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician of the late eighteenth century, who developed homeopathy and after years of experimenting he found homeopathic remedies effective and concluded: “In order to bring about prompt, gentle, and lasting improvement, you most often need to use infinitesimal doses.” It is because these remedies are so extremely weak that they are considered non-toxic, non-addictive, and safe.

While a few remedies are used for specific symptoms universally, most require the assistance of a doctor to help draw a finer distinction. Follow-up is critical in the development of a homeopathic case to accomplish the goal — a cure. The length and speed of the healing process depends on many factors including heredity, severity and length of illness, current and previous medications, level of ongoing life stresses and others.

Naturopathic Medicine is more than simply switching from drugs to herbs –it is a different approach to the patient. The philosophy is different. A naturopathic physician tries to remain focused on the whole person, not on one system, or even on the disease. They work to balance the body and by doing so, the body is able to heal its self. Of course, sometimes it is necessary to use drugs. Our Naturopath has accomplished education and awards that reflect his dedication to healing.

Medical Doctor Focus is family practice, looking at the patient as a whole person. All factors are considered but a relationship must be established. When a patient comes in and knows what it is they want and are asking the doctor to take responsibility for writing the prescription or ordering the treatment, they must understand the doctor needs to justify it. Our doctor takes every opportunity to discuss and understand the problem, allowing the patient to acknowledge all options. In the end, the patient has been given informed consent regarding their treatment plan.

At the Center for Environmental Medicine, our objective is to achieve the best results possible through professional standards and utilization of supportive research. We are strongly committed to the belief that physicians and their trained staff focused on integrated individualized patient care are the best providers for medical services and that the responsibility for your health care should not be delegated, diluted, or limited as it occurs with some “managed health care”.
