Tammy Ashney, ND

Dr. Ashney completed her naturopathic medical school training at the National College for Natural Medicine (NCNM). She completed three years of residency: one year of general naturopathic residency through NCNM and two years of an integrative women’s health residency under the supervision of Tori Hudson, ND at A Woman’s Time. As a doctoral student, Dr. Ashney received numerous scholarships, a certificate in natural childbirth and completed a two-year mentorship in naturopathic women’s health. She interned here at Center for Environmental Medicine to sharpen her skills in environmental medicine including chelation. Prior to her naturopathic training, Dr. Ashney received her BA in anthropology and women’s studies from James Madison University in Virginia in 1999.

Dr. Ashney enjoys general family practice and is particularly skilled in hormone therapy, sexual health, herbal medicine, and nutrition. She also has extensive training in environmental medicine/chelation therapy with Walter Crinnion, ND and through the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM) where she maintains her certification. She is also trained in Holistic Pelvic CareÔ by Tami Kent, PT which is a combination of physical and energetic treatment to not only help women who may have pelvic symptoms but to maintain general wellness of the pelvic floor.

In addition to being passionate about naturopathic family practice, Dr. Ashney continues to give back to the profession as an adjunct faculty member at NCNM teaching courses such as gynecology lab, advanced gynecology, and clinical physical diagnosis.

When not practicing medicine Dr. Ashney enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends whether it be hiking, biking, sitting around a fire, or sharing a wholesome delicious meal.

Chris Hatlestad, MD, ABFM

Dr. Hatlestad completed medical school at Southern Illinois University in 1990 and residency at the University of Minnesota in 1993.  He earned a Masters Degree in Nutritional Science from the University of Illinois prior to his medical training.  He offers a broad background in both conventional and alternative medicine, providing a fresh approach to patients who are discouraged with conventional medicine or desire a holistic perspective for their health care.  Dr. Hatlestad specializes in Family Practice, is skilled in bio-identical hormone management, acupuncture, nutritional and botanical therapies, Ayurvedic Medicine, energy medicine and various injections therapies.

Dr. Hatlestad states, “For me, Integrative Medicine draws on the best aspects of different medical traditions and innovative practices to provide new ways of thinking about Health and Disease.  This includes taking advantage of the best that conventional medicine has to offer.  I enjoy helping patients transcend a common understanding of their illness to achieve a new level of responsibility for their health; finding treatment plans that align with their agendas and empowering them as a partner toward optimal wellness.”

Dr. Hatlestad takes an active interest in his three children, mountain biking, mountaineering, snowboarding, running, windsurfing, kayaking, and jazz.  He also practices Aikido regularly. 

Cambor Wade, Nutritionist

Cambor Wade

Trained in Environmental Ecology and nutrition with an emphasis in environmental health, Cambor began her career as a supervisor of a vitamin manufacturing company once located in Portland Oregon.  In 1986  she joined an allergy clinic in Vancouver, Washington where she learned how to do Provocative Neutralization and has been with Center for Environmental Medicine in 2001 when it first opened.  Cambor works as the Center’s Business Administrator, a Nutritionist and assists the doctors in IV administration, patient instruction and allergy testing. 

Environmental Health focuses on the lives of people; what they eat, drink, breathe, their home, work and emotional environment, and how their health is impacted.  Once she suffered from severe environmental illness including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, heavy metal sensitivity and overload, and plagued by significant allergy issues.  She discovered the importance of a healthy lifestyle, nutrition and a journey to recovery and her passion and gift is sharing that information with others.

In her spare time, Cambor and her husband enjoys vacationing in Mexico, cooking, the study of ancient Jewish history, gardening and visiting with friends.
